Dam to Dam Open (4th & 5th May)
Come and join us for our Dam to Dam Open event
The iconic Dam to Dam challenge returns in 2025. This is a 2 day long distance racing open event, across the full length of Kielder Water – the UK’s largest man made reservoir. The event is also open to all handicap classes with a PY under 1400
On the water:
- 2 long distance races (1 per day)
- First race @ 1pm on Sunday 4th May
- Mass start for all competitors
On Shore:
- Free camping for tents – although it is first come, first serve.
- Please be aware that space onsite at the sailing club will be limited for camper vans & caravans – there is a public car park next to the sailing club where tickets can be purchased from the visitor center on arrival. Every effort will be made to enable camping onsite for all competitors.
- Galley open for snacks throughout the weekend (Sunday evening – see below)
- Bar open all weekend
Sunday Evening – we will be operating a bring your own BBQ service

Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS)
Visitors bringing boats and equipment must now follow an additional procedure to remove the risk of spread of Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS). On arrival at the sailing club, boats that have been sailed on other inland waters must be washed down prior to entering Kielder Water. Access to cleaning equipment is based at Tower Knowe visitor center. Please see arrival instructions here. Further information will be available at the club, please ask for details on arrival
