SUMMARY:Dam to Dam Open
DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for our Dam to Dam Open event\nThe iconic Dam to Dam challenge returns in 2025.  This is a 2 day long distance racing open event\, across the full length of Kielder Water – the UK’s largest man made reservoir.  The event is also open to all handicap classes with a PY under 1400 \nOn the water:\n\n2 long distance races (1 per day)\nFirst race @ 1pm on Sunday 3rd May\nMass start for all competitors\n\nOn Shore:\n\nFree camping for tents & camper vans/caravans.\nPlease be aware that space onsite at the sailing club will be limited for camper vans & caravans – there is a public car park next to the sailing club where  tickets can be purchased from the visitor center on arrival. Every effort will be made to enable camping onsite for all competitors.\nGalley open for snacks throughout the weekend (Sunday evening – see below)\nBar open all weekend\n\nSunday Evening – TBC \n\nCome and experience racing in stunning Northumberland! \n\nFurther Details:\nInvasive Non-Native Species (INNS) \nVisitors bringing boats and equipment must now follow an additional procedure to remove the risk of spread of Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS).  On arrival at the sailing club\, boats that have been sailed on other inland waters must be washed down prior to entering Kielder Water. Access to cleaning equipment is based at Tower Knowe visitor center. Please see arrival instructions here. SUMMARY:RYA Safety Boat Course (2 days)
DESCRIPTION:This course is available to members and covers the rescue of people and small craft; boats\, windsurfs\, canoes. Members need to have RYA Powerboat level 2 and at least 2 years experience of driving and maneuvering the powerboat before undertaking this course. A pre-course assessment is needed to ensure you have the required competence. Please contact the powerboat team prior to booking on this course – see here \nCancellation policy \n\nFees will be paid in full prior to the start of the course.\n A full refund will be given for cancellation up to two weeks prior to the start of the course. A 50% refund will be given for cancellation within two weeks of the start of the course.\n There may be circumstances where a full refund will be given within two weeks of the start of the course at the discretion of the Principal.\n In the event of non-attendance due to illness\, if it is possible\, the missed training will be covered in the remaining training days. If this is not possible a further course or part course may need to be attended in order to complete the course.
